The Scott Winchester Award is given to a Saginaw Travel hockey player who excels both on the ice, and in the class room.  Scott was an excellent travel hockey player in Saginaw when he was tragically killed in a car accident. He had a great attitude on and off the ice, and his drive was focused in the class room as well. Scott’s parents created this award after his death to honor the travel players with the same qualities.
This year's Scott Winchester Award winner is Ayden Spencer of the 2006 Saginaw Jr Spirit, who was given the award by last season's winner, Owen Turner, also of the 2006 Spirit.  Other nominees were Reid Meinhardt (2006 Spirit), Cooper Bordeaux (2007 Meijer), James Krieger (2007 Meijer), Teague Workman (2008 Spirit), Collin Workman (2008 Spirit), Landon Hayward (2009 Spirit), Jack Romain (2009 Spirit), Blake Bowerman (2010 Spirit), Levi Hirschenberger (2010 Spirit), Murphy Linehan (Girls 12u Spirit), and Helen Montross (Girls 12u Spirit).
