· Season Length - The hockey season begins after Labor Day in September, and ends with the House Championship games on March 8, 2020. Please make a note of this date when planning spring vacation times. All house teams receive 50 hours of scheduled practices and games.
· Birth Certificates - New GSAHA players must furnish a copy of their birth certificate to the GSAHA arena office upon registration. This includes Skills Development Skaters.
· Move Up Requests - All requests for players asking to move to a higher division MUST be made in writing to the GSAHA Board for consideration by Sept. 8, 2019.
· Divisional Parent Meeting – There will be a parent meeting for each division during one of the Skill Clinic Skates that will go over season expectations in detail. That schedule will be posted on the website once complete.
GSAHA Training Camp & Draft Skate
This season’s draft skate will be preceded by an extended Training Camp for all registered house players, and is included in your skater’s fee. Please take advantage of this which gives kids more ice time to skate off the rust and get used to new equipment, while giving coaches more familiarity with the players. Both of these allow for better player evaluations and draft. The first Training Camp skates are listed below. Check the division page on the website for the rest of the dates and times.
Atom 9/6 at 5:00, Mite 9/4 at 5:00, Squirt 8/27 at 5:00
Pee Wee 8/28 at 5:00, Bantam 8/29 at 5:00
18u MIDGET Division
The 18u Midget division will have a split season so potential high school players may participate in September and October, and then return to their respective schools in November. Those players remaining with the GSAHA for the remainder of the season will then be drafted again in November. The first skate for the fall team is Wednesday, Sept 4 at 7:00 pm. For planning purposes, please make sure the players are registered online before arriving. Information & registration will be available in October regarding the winter portion of the season.
Note: ALL players 17 years of age or older on or before December 31 of this playing season, must complete SafeSport Training before being added to a team and prior to participation (on-ice or off-ice). USA Hockey will be communicating with those eligible players to make them aware of the requirement so that they have the opportunity to complete the training well in advance.
All Players, Coaches and Staff Volunteers must register online by choosing the appropriate link below. These links will walk you through the steps, with the first registration being with USA Hockey, and the second being with GSAHA. The registration fee will not be collected at this time through this website. Instead, you will receive an email from the arena containing an invoice that will need to be paid upon receipt. There will be a link within the invoice that will allow you to pay online, or you can always pay in person.
